Announcement from Club Growth Director

Membership Renewal (Don’t forget!)

It’s almost time to renew your membership. Please pay attention to the guidance from the Treasurer of your club and complete the process in time.

At the time of renewal, why don’t we invite fellow members who have never attended or have little attendance to the online meetings?

With more members participating, the role will be fulfilled, the evaluation will be diversified, and the quality of the entire meeting will be improved. Let’s send the links to the club homepage and SNS to show the pictures of recent meetings and share the value of the meetings and new techniques you can practice even in the corona situation. It would also be a good follow-up to share the schedule of regular meetings and club events in the coming months.

Smedley Award

As announced in the newsletter in July, clubs that have acquired 5 new members during the two months from August 1st to September 30th will receive “Smedley Award” with a ribbon and a 10% discount coupon at the Toastmasters Online Store. (see more info)

Let’s invite friends and colleagues who might be interested in the Toastmasters activities as guests!

Announcement from Public Relations Manager

Greetings and Announcement

Hi, fellow Toastmasters! I am Yuki Uchida, PR Manager for this term.

“Public Relations” means creating relationships with the public. We will work as a team to become a connector between Toastmasters and the general public.

This term, the PR team plans to work on activities in four frameworks.

  1. Branding to increase awareness of Toastmasters.
  2. Advertising for soliciting events and attracting corporate clubs.
  3. Holding a workshop to improve the PR skills of your clubs.
  4. District 76 website operation.

Therefore, we would like to inform you of two points.

1. Would you please fill out the questionnaire?

To help improve the PR skills of your clubs, we decided to take a survey to find out what you’re having trouble with in your club and what you want to know. We would appreciate it if you could fill out the form below.

Questionnaire from PR Team

Questionnaire submission deadline: 8/31/2021
(The questionnaire is intentionally written in Japanese only.)

Based on the results of the questionnaire, PR professional Erika Nakazato will hold a workshop.

2. Please use “VPPRの広場”.

There is a group called VPPRの広場 on Facebook. We would like to be able to disseminate information and exchange opinions here as well. Especially if you are a VPPR, please join it. We think that just “reading” other people’s posts will be helpful.

International Japanese Language Meeting

<< Online event >>
Let’s get together in Japanese with international Toastmasters!
— What is it like to learn Japanese for the international learners?

Date & Time: 18:00-20:00 JST (UTC +9), Sunday, 29 August 2021

“What made you to learn Japanese?”
“What ideas and habits do you have in learning Japanese?”
“What are the fun, joy and challenges in learning Japanese?”

Do you know that, outside Japan, there are a number of Toastmasters Clubs (TMCs) in which people learn the public speeches in Japanese?

You are more than welcome to join us in a special Toastmasters’ event of Japanese speeches by international learners!

We have invited speakers from the TMCs in China, India, Korea and Taiwan, as well as a special guest from Sekai to Watashi , a weekly theme-based online Japanese language chat space for Japanese language learners. They will present a wide variety of experiences of leaning the Japanese language.

You will enjoy discovering and re-discovering the Japanese language through discussing the speeches with other participants. You will thus fuel the motivation to learn Japanese, as well as enjoy meeting with both non-native and native Japanese speakers mingled in the same cyber space together.

Let’s unite with international friends via the Japanese!
