We have a message and photos from TM Rieko Walke (Shimazuyama TMC), who participated in the World championship semifinals in August, to share her wonderful experience with everyone in District 76. Once again, congratulations Rieko-san!

“Wow! What an experience!! Though I couldn’t advance to the Final, I had such a great experience at the Toastmasters 2022 International Convention in Nashville, TN, USA. I was able to feel the 300 (+online worldwide!) live audience’s laughter and nods in person and that was absolutely amazing!!

Thank you again to all the Toastmasters who gave me so much help, encouragement, and warm messages. I could not have accomplished this journey without you!!!

As in the previous year, District 76 will provide you with the “Club Energizing Program” as a tool to energize your club. There will be three types of awards: individual, advanced, and club awards, with prizes for those who achieve the goals.

By actively using this program, you can expect the following effects

• Club members will be actively involved in meetings and contests.
• Teamwork in your club will be strengthened with shared goals.
• Opportunities to interact with other clubs and learn from each other will be generated.

The program period will be 10 months from July 2022 to April 2023 (submission deadline: May 7, 2023).

Since I assumed Club Growth Director, I hear from members that, “We have guests participated in our online meetings via HP or Facebook, but they don’t come back.”

However, one club asked a guest to enter zoom 15 minutes prior to the meeting just to chat with president and members. The guest informed the club after a few days that he would like to join the club.

Prior to the outbreak of pandemic, VPM or members welcomed guests warmly at venue with a sense of care so that the guest feel relaxed. Recently, there are many clubs whose members enter zoom at the time the meeting starts. For a guest who is experiencing a meeting for the first time, he or she may feel nervous.

How about having time 10 to 20 minutes prior to a meeting to chat with guests so that they can relax ?
