Announcement from District Director
Greetings
The word ‘Back To Basics’ was the slogan of District76 this term. We cherished and valued the spirit of challenge, and each committee has implemented various new measures for club’s learning opportunities this term. Thank you very much for your continuous support and participation.
We will have face-to-face exchanges as well as online formats continuously to take place at District events in the next fiscal year. We are in an era where activities without online are no longer conceivable. Our International conferences and events will continue to be held in a hybrid format. It is the time we build our activities to be even more effective and engaging while exploring the dynamism of the community as a Toastmaster.
I hope that your Toastmasters year has been a memorable and fruitful experience with your achievement. We look forward to working with you in near future.
Thank you again and See you soon!

District Director 2021-2022

In addition, I would like to share the information of the Pathways Mentor Program from the mentoring session team. The team’s message:
“Let’s take a giant leap while increasing club vitality by deepening the understanding of Mentoring, especially the newly created Program!! Visit [here]!”
Greetings
I would like to thank all of you for your cooperation in this term.
We tried new things such as conducting executive training in TLI format and holding a humor speech contest. I am grateful that it would not have been possible without your cooperation.
Next term, as a district director, I would like to enjoy and learn together with you. Thank you for your continued support.
Announcement from Club Growth Director
Let’s Welcome a New Club!
I would like to introduce a new club.
Our 5th new club in this Toastmaster year is SST Toastmasters Club!
SST is a vibrant corporate club with 31 members from various footprints of Suntory System Technology Limited, which supports the Suntory Group’s IT.
Let’s give a warm welcome to our newest friends.
Greetings
Thank you very much for your generous support this year.
It was a great pleasure to meet and learn from so many wonderful Toastmasters even in difficult times, including those who continued to work hard to energize their clubs and sustain opportunities for growth, those who proactively visited workshops and other clubs to help themselves and their clubs grow, and those who demonstrated positive communication and leadership among their members.
Thank you again. I would like to make the most of this experience and do my best to serve you as Program Quality Director in the next term.

Results of the Facebook Advertising Project
In early April, we proposed to advertise on Facebook for recruiting members to the clubs.
Eventually, 36 clubs have successfully placed Facebook ads, so I’ll share the aggregated data. (Data as of June 8, 2022)
Result of spending about 620,000 yen at 36 clubs:
■Number of contacts to clubs: 63
■Number of guests (including planned visits): 35
■Number of new members: 2
Some guests have only visited once, and some are planning to visit, so it is expected that more guests will be members in the future.
Here are some of the clubs that have been particularly successful. Congratulations!!!
Clubs with many “guests”
- Fuchu TMC: 4 persons
- Kyushu University TMC: 4 persons
- Kashiwa TMC: 3 persons
- Omotesando TMC: 3 persons
Clubs with “new members”
- Omotesando TMC: 1 person
- Wakayama TMC: 1 person
We are very grateful for joining this project. Thank you very much.

International Workshop – The Art of Table Topics speeches
International Workshop – The Art of Table Topics speeches
19:00 – 21:00, Saturday, 25 June (UTC +9)
Are we well aware of the importance and potential richness of short speeches?
Why are Table Topics speeches included in the standard meeting agenda of Toastmasters?
Are Table Topics speeches also public speeches?
Against what criteria should we evaluate Table Topics speeches?
If you have these questions on Table Topics speeches, why don’t you join us? We are organising an international workshop on the Art of Table Topics speeches.
The objective of the workshop is to revisit and discover the power of a Table Topics speech as a public speech.
To this end, we will;
- review the Table Topics speeches in the light of public speeches
- encourage international participants to bring diversity of ways of thinking underlying Table Topics speeches
- learn from feedback of your speech
- become like the Table Topics speeches
- have fun with unusual experience
The speakers of the inspiration talks will be Toastmaster Tomohide OSHIMA, the 10 times national Champion of D76 (Japan) Toastmasters speech contests, including five times Champion of Table Topics speeches, and Toastmaster Paul Malone, D76 International Speech Contest Champion 2021.
In the workshop, you will have an opportunity to practice impromptu speeches and get feedback from other Toastmasters.
■Date: 19:00 – 21:00, 25 June (UTC +9)
■Who may join: Toastmasters and non-Toastmasters
■Where?: Online (Zoom)
■Language: English
