Announcement from Program Quality Director
Toastmasters’ year starts in July and end in June. We have finished 2nd round Club Officers Training and I think most of clubs completed the Club Level Contests. For the next 4 months, we will have Area, Division, District Level Speech Contest, and Annual Conference.
I hope that all of you will enjoy Toastmasters and build A Better You. Let me remind you of Toastmasters International Mission.
“We empower individuals to become more effective communicators and leaders.”
Online Speech Contest
The related information is on D76 Website mainly in Japanese, and you can download the English files on Toastmasters International Website directly.
Please note that a contestant can share the power point slides as Background, however she still needs to remain within the speaking area and the view of judges. For your reference, please visit the District 76 website (Japanese page)

Buildup Membership in February and March
When the club contests finishes it’s time for membership building. Keeping membership strength at dues renewal is vital to smooth club management. Please leverage the following programs to encourage recruitments of new members joining in February and March.
Membership Building for Clubs
Talk Up Toastmasters (Program Dates: February 1 – March 31)
Toastmasters love to connect, so take advantage of it. The Talk Up Toastmasters membership program is the chance to encourage your members to invite guests to a special meeting where prospective members can learn about Toastmasters’ many benefits.
District 76 Membership Building Program for Clubs
Golden March Award (Program Dates: February 1 – March 31)
Add three new, dual or reinstated members with a join date between February 1 and March 31, and you’ll receive a special gift (TBA).
OPEN HOUSE in February and March
Open House project is now extended to March 31st. Each club is now allowed to register the Open House directly in addition to the Area Director.
New and second entries are invited. Clubs don’t need to provide a guest application form any longer. Date, time, and venue information are sufficient to register a meeting. Since we advertise a list of open house meetings on SNS I strongly recommend your early registration to maximize the number of participants.

Due on April 1st
It’s time to pay membership dues for the next renewal period (April to September). Please make sure your payment will be submitted on or before April 1st. The minimum requirement for a club to remain in good standing is eight members. Clubs that are not in good standing are not eligible to send contestant to area contest.
I understand that some clubs are discussing decrease of club dues and that may give their Treasure shorter time to collect money than usual. I would like to ask everybody’s cooperation for swift payment. For more information please read a letter from Toastmasters Interntional (Membership Renewals Announcement February 1 2021).
100 % Member Retention Recognitions
An average of approximately seven hundred members discontinued their club membership at each renewal in last five years, which exceeds six hundred forty of new members joined between July and January in this term. For the many clubs who are struggling in recruiting new members in a midst of COVID-19 pandemic, the best way to protect their membership strength is to keep retention rate high.
District 76 will recognize the clubs and areas that have achieved 100 % member retention by April 1st.
New Club Charter Fee Waiver Extended to June 30th
The special program of fee waiver for new club charter has been exteded. Please read a letter from Toastmasters International.
