Past International President Gary Schmidt to Visit Japan

Past International President of Toastmasters International Gary Schmidt, DTM will participate as the Guest of Honor in Toastmasters International District 76 Spring Conference 2015. The conference is held from May 15 to 17 at National Olympics Memorial Youth Center in Tokyo. He is going to give two keynote addresses on leadership: “How to Make Your Dreams Come True” on the evening of 16th, and “The Secrets of Successful Leaders” on the morning of 17th.

 

Gary Schmidt served as the International President of Toastmasters International in 2009-2010. He has been the youngest International President elected in the organization’s more than 90 years’ history. Gary is the Director of Public and Government Affairs for Clackamas County, a local government in Oregon, USA. He previously worked for United States Senators Mark Hatfield and Gordon Smith, and as a speechwriter and associate with Mark Hatfield and Associates. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and master’s degree in Public Administration from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon, USA. He has been a Toastmaster for 20 years and is a member of two Toastmasters clubs.
