This autumn an overnight joint meeting was held organized by Ageo Toastmasters Club. We were satisfied with multiple performances by Toastmasters members gathering from Miyagi prefecture to Kanagawa prefecture.
The first day: Pathways Seminar, Joint Meeting and Banquet were held. Variety of events included a guest speech (by District 76 Japanese Speech Contest winner), Table Topics Speech, prepared speeches, evaluations, dancing by imitating idol singers, American popular music accompanied by guitar, plate spinning, flamenco, comic storytelling and legal compliance seminar. Certificates of awards were presented to winners of Best Table Topics, Best Prepared Speech, Best Evaluator and Best Attraction Performer.
The second day: We visited the castle ruin, a museum and art museums in Kawagoe City. The city attracts 7 million tourists yearly and is a repository of cultural assets including UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. The trip seemed to be beneficial for us to get information in case of introducing Japanese culture to visitors from abroad.
